What we collect

If you request a scrap quote we collect the registration, postcode, your name, phone number, optional email, the reason the car failed and whether it runs. We also record the date, the page you came from and your IP address to prevent abuse.

Why and who we share it with

We use it only to get you a quote. Your request is passed to Scrap My Car (scrapmycar.net) and to one or more licensed vehicle recycling partners (Authorised Treatment Facilities) who cover your postcode, so they can contact you with a price and arrange collection. The legal basis is your consent, given when you tick the box on the form. We don't sell your details or use them for unrelated marketing.

How long we keep it

Quote requests are kept for up to 24 months for record-keeping and to deal with any queries, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@motfailure.uk. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The pre-MOT checklist saves which boxes you've ticked in your own browser's local storage; nothing is sent to us. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
